Hello everyone, I need some info.
I recently added a Lite-On DVD burner and a Maxtor 160gb drive to my computer (which already had a 60gb drive and a Lite-On CD-RW drive). Now, instead of the expected two CD-Rom type devices (the DVD burner and the CD burner) I have three!! The unexpected (and unwanted) third device is identified as: AXV CD-DVD-ROM SCSI CDROM device. Now this is obviously some sort of logical or virtual drive (or something like that), but as far as I can recall, I was never informed this was going to be installed. I have tried uninstalling the AXV drive in the device manager, but it is back on the next boot.
Does anyone know what this is, where it might have come from, can I get rid of it, should I even worry about it, etc. Pretty much any info anyone has would be appreciated - I have searched and searched, but info seems a little sketchy to me...the AXV drive thing is mentioned in several places, but usually just in passing or as part of system specs. I want info specificaly on the AXV CD-DVD-ROM SCSI CDROM device.
Take care,
Rob
