avi TO dvd

hey guys im pretty new to this whole dvd world. I have a plextor 708a burner ... which may i add is awesome as usual for plextor products.. I would like your suggestions on software to convert avi or mpeg to dvd's. I pretty much use pinnacle deluxe 8 av/dv, nero, and recordnow max 3.5.. I cant seem to find any options to change the format.. Any help would be great, thanks in advance. shawn

Tmpgenc followed by Tmpgenc DVD maker are consistently reliable for me. You might need FFDshow codec installed for some DVXs.

ffdshow is as the name suggests a directshow codec, if you wanted to use it with TMPGEnc, you would have to crank the directshow plugin's priority first as TMPGEnc generally uses a VFW decoder, you could also try ffvfw, ffdshow's vfw counterpart.
