avi to dvd?

i have a avi movie on my pc which i like to put on a dvd how can i do this? any one can help? i tried studio 8 which would do the job but the avi file is shown at 4.7 g and it shows my bulk pack dvd -r as 4.3 and it does stop mid procces. any one can help?

When they say a DVD-R is 4.7gigs they mean 4.7*10^9 and not 4.7*1024^3 as your PC would report.

So the actual size of a blank is (4.7*10^9)/1024^3=4.38 or so gigs.

Render it as a VOB titleset or whatever the hard drive option is in Pinnacle. Then use dvdshrink (freeware) or another such program to make it fit on a DVD-R.
