Which software to backup avi files to dvd-r?
Hi,
I've captured lots of avi files from dv tapes and made use of some files to export to mpg files and burned dvd already.
However, the avi files are getting more and more in my HD. I want to backup the avi files in dvd-r so that I can use and edit them again and I don't need to re-capture again from the dv tapes.
I've tried the Nero BackItUp to backup the avi files in the dvd-r and restore them into the HD when I need them. But 2 out of 8 avi files have errors and can't play back. I assume the media is ok.
I have two questions:
1) Is it a good method to store the avi files? Any other way to store and restore data like avi?
2) If yes, is the Nero BackItUp a good one? Any other better software?

Burn them to DVDR as a Data DVD <> they will still play in your PC but not on most Standalones
