downloaded an avi file and used dvd2svcd to convert it over to dvd files, the video is superb but the audio is too fast sounds like the chipmunks.looked at all the files and log files and it seems that after it was encoded this happened.i have waited for 9 hours for this to finish and now im going to take a hammer to the pc has anyone got any idea why the audio is so fast

Not sure why, but you could try using ffmpeg GUI to convert the avi's audio direct to AC3, then hopefully it matches the video that you already have. That way you can simply author the two and you won't have wasted 9 hours.

the original framerate of 14.985 is not supported ,this i what is being shown wheni load up the file into dvd2svcd does this help at all is this why the audio is so quick and if so what can i do

Delete the file.

Sounds like a VCD re-encode, they decimate the framerate by two and basically do the same for the audio which might explain the problem 22Khz-->48.

I always recommend that after people are done watching (S)VCD re-encodes they simply delete the file. If you really like the movie, grab a proper version later.

If you insist on burning it, like I said, try ffmpeg GUI, it can resample audio on the fly. Could also use BeSweet, which should do a better, but slower job of resampling. HeadAC3e would also be another option, same resampler as besweet though and all use the same AC3 encoder. If you don't want/need AC3 then all of them can also do mp2.
