avi prob

to start with i grabbed myself the xxx movie,dl it & when it played there was no sound.was using divx,real one & media player 9.
that was before a format.
the good thing was i backed it up ,iv been messing around today with another divx.& reinstalled the media player 9.
for some reason i aint death & dumb anymore.lol just the dumb bit now.
i grabbed a divx last night, u571.its 43 x 15mbs.at my full of 70kbs.i have tested it with the winraw3 & everything is sound.
extracted it.now have u571(divx)avi.
the only prob is i get nothing.iv tried all players & tried renaming.nothing reconisers it.
media juke box comes up with,no combination of filters could be found.
& the divx shows 0.00.00 time ect.
any help would be great.
carnt email the person either.did try converting it in nero as a vcd,
but not reconised.

The lack of audio in xxx & u571 could be AC3 sound codec needed. Get GSpot (do a search here for it) as it will tell you the codec need to run it. Then get the Nimo pack and ONLY LOAD the codecs required.

I then would suggest you bin Nero for doing your AVI to VCD conversions, the results are really crappy. HAve a read in the tutorial section on how to do it to get great results.

i dont realy do much backing up,usally music.
only tried nero once on a crappy film,just to see the difference.
but i usally just burn them as they are with the data side of nero.
will be getting into the vcds ect more now & your tutorials will be of great help.
my mum wants the band of brothers collection for cristmas of us.& at £50/£60 its a must backup.damb wont be able to take it back
glad she dont like the bond collection. at £250 its a rip.
