AVI File Too Large For CD-R

I'm a newbie and for the first time today I've tried to burn a Divx file onto a CD-R as a VCD using Nero 6 but after 6 hours encoding it (or something like that!) it said it wouldn't fit on the disc. My CD-R's are 700mb/80mins in size but the file as it stands on my PC is 699mb but 2 hours long to playback in full. Is there anyway on getting onto CD-R. Im quite prepared to put it onto 3 or 4 if that what it takes but how do I break them into sections.

Cheers

VCD is 80mins per disc so you would need to use 2 CDR's for a 2hour film. You could also try creating a XVCD of it on one disc (KVCD or similar).

Personally I wouldn't recommend Nero for encoding, I would suggest TMPGEnc and to use AVISynth to frameserve the AVI, using the trim() command to limit the length of each part.

Does the splitter split the AVI into 80min segments or whatever you want?
Also what is XVCD?
You'll have to bear with me as its all new to me.

It splits them to what ever you want or you can have it to split automaticly...

It has a very freindly user interface..
