AVI(DivX) to SVCD Tutorial Questions

Hi,
Been following your AVI(DivX) to SVCD tutorial for a while now but I have a few questions.

Under step 3 part 9 (frameserver tab) where can I enter the Sharpen value of 0.4? and I can only find MPEG2DEC3.DLL and not the 2 version you mention.

Under step 3 part 11 (encoder tab) you say multipass VBR should be set to 3 for best results. Is there a big difference between 3 and 4 for quality and for the time it takes to encode? And do you still recomend un-selecting all the MPEG2 video settings?

The Sharpen option has been removed from later versions of DVD2SVCD. It did very little really so just ignor. The later versions now also use MPEG2DEC3.DLL if you install AVISYNTH 2.52 but the 2 version if installed AVISYNTH 2.08 Yes I know, an upgrade of the Tute is due :D

Personally I cannot see any difference between 3 & 4 pass VBR. Only you can determine if there is a big difference. Suggest you extract and convert the same movie with 3 pass and 4 pass, note the times of conversion on your PC and play them back. Run with the one that you like best. Yep, leave all the MPEG2 video settings un-selected. You could select the bottom one "Progressive frames" if your aware that the AVI is not interlaced.
