Avi audio out of sync...

Hey guys i have an AVI and the audio is out of sync..are there any programs that will correct this???

sugestion(write this way?)
i use a tutorial of cdrsoft....
i use vidomi to encode A side one of woodstock
with 28 chapter(with her names) and
3 languages:portuguese,spanish and english.
the side one has 4.12gb(more or less)IN vobs.
final sise: 680mb with:
audio 2 pass normalize 98% at 160 cbr(lame mp3),
divx3vbr 2pass ENCODE COLOR RGB32 and.......
VERY COOL....
DON'T PROBLEMS WITH SINC,EVRYTHING IS FINE!!!

jorel, I have found using Vidomi producec perfect DivX, as you found. The problem here is AVI's people have dopwnloaded off the net. Who knows how these were made and many have lip-sync problems unfortunately.

Barney, load the AVI into VirtualDUB and go to File Properties, it will tell you all you need to know about the AVI.
 
Have a look for the frame rate in VD, if its 29.97 then its NTSc and then with the utility, increas or decreas it to fix the audio sync.
 
Only some suggestion: in order to view and correct the video stream bitrate according with audio you can obtain the figures by using VirtualDub (Open the movie with VirtualDub, press <Ctrl>+R and you will see at the section Source rate ajustment at the 3th point how the video rate should be).

I also notice that usualy the best way to repair a movie where you have syncro problems is to separe video and audio and re-encode the whole movie (Usualy I find bad syncro in the files coded with VBR and re-encoding was the only solution).
