Audio way out of sync

Hi All
I've just converted an XviD using DVD2SVCD as in CM's guide. I've authored it and stuck it on a DVD but its about 10 seconds out of sync. I've checked the muxed file and thats the same. The AVI was perfect and the audio was 48000hz MP3 and as far as I'm aware all settings were correct in DVD2SVCD. Anyone any ideas please

The purpose of playing the muxed mpg file is to check for sync issues, that saves a coaster.

If audio is out of sync, it simply means the original avi had problems regardless if it played fine or not.
