Hi all,
I am able to capture video directly to my hard drive using my ati video card. The ATI software has presets for various quality and format captures. I typically capture mpeg 2 at 720x480 (NTSC) at about 6.00 mbit/sec. audio is 48.000 KHz 16 bit stereo. I can play the mpg files back on my computer and they look great and the frame rate is correct, ala widows media player read-out. I would like to get them onto dvd. I looked at some of chickenman's tutorials but they don't sem to deal with files that are already mpg2 dvd compliant.
What can i do? I have nero 6 and pinnacle studio 8. Nero 6 works, but after about 20 minutes of video the audio (using AC-3 2.0) is AHEAD of the video . What is going on? if I use LPCM then the audio jumps ahead of the video after about 10 minutes.
I have Adobe Premire 6, but didn't bother to install because it can't import mpg2 and i would still need another program to prepare the file for burning to DVD.
Is Pinnacle studio 8 any better? I have not installed it because i try to keep my system free of programs I won't use. Also I don't think Pinnacle can do AC3 2.0 digital audio.
By the way, both my video and audio card are using IRQ 17, however this does not cause any problems with the ATI capture, could this cause a problem using Nero? With nero, the audio gets ahead of the video even with capturing to the harddrive.
What the heck can I do??? (without spending loads of money) Is there anyway to help nero sync the audio?
System specs are:
Dual AMD athalon MP 2400+ (O.C.'d to 2100 ghz)
1 Gig crucial reg ecc ram
Hercules Fortissimo III 7.1 audio
ATI All-in-wonder 9600pro
Opto write dvd burner (irrelevant to the capture process)
Sorry sooo long, but I just want to give as much info as possible. I just want my dvd compliant Mpeg-2 files on DVD as easy as possible with-out spending gobs of money on another program that may or may not work. (preferably i would like to get one of the programs i already have to work properly) For crying out loud ... Nero is supposed to be able to burn directly to DVD using the +VR format (and it does, BUT THE AUDIO BEATS THE VIDEO TO THE FINISH )
