ASPI problem on Dell Dimension 8200

I have a problem with ASPI on my Dell Dimension 8200. The computer has a DVD-ROM drive and a CD/RW drive. Both are on the secondary IDE channel. I run Windows XP Professional.

Even though I install different ASPI drivers (adaptec 4.60 and 4.70, ForceASPI), applications like Audio Catalyst and CDRWIN won't run. CDRWIN even blue dumps my computer. I've tried disconnecting the drives but the puter still dumps, I've tried CDRWIN's built-in ASPI drivers too.

Easy CD Creator 5.3 will run. Haven't tried Nero yet.

Any ideas?

Don't use ASPI 4.7X, but rather the previous 4.6X releases.

Install 4.60 AFTER uninstall ALL aspi drivers

Ok try using killaspi within forceaspi to kill your current aspi reboot a must. Then install using the ASPI 4.60 vesion or forceaspi. Once installed reboot.

In the troubleshooting process, I reinstalled Windows, installed ASPI 4.60, installed CDRWIN and nothing else.

Fresh installs of everything, same problem.
