application error with DVDsVCD/cinema craft encoder (avi to SVCD/DVD)

I tried to convert a movie today. But it throws a error message when cinema craft opens up 'cinema craft encoder sp : cctsp -application error ' The instruction at 0x000000069 referenced memory at 0x000000069. The memory could not be read.'

I wonder if anybody know why this occurs and ifso how do i rectify this error or alternatively what other way i could try to convert this movie to DVD.

Which version of CCE? Also does it run ok by itself?

its 2.5 mate. All other movies work fine with it. Its just that particular movie that it doeasnt work with.
Is there any other way i can convert it to Dvd?

I have just checked the compression of the file and it is different to all other files that i have successfully converted. it says '3ivx D4 4.04' in compression information.Do i need a specific codec for that?
could this be the problem?

Is the FourCC actualy 3iv2? Because 3ivX also handles mp4v amoung others.

Should work fine if you change the fourCC and have DivX or XviD decode instead.

Please explain what you mean in your message, im not too technical when it comes to codecs etc etc

Well the first part is me wondering if it was actually encoded with 3ivx or say ripped from in ISO MPEG4 file.

The second part is me telling you that 3ivx, DivX and XviD all being MPEG4 compliant you should be able to change the fourCC code of the file to that of either XviD or DivX, assuming that either of those has been converted by you sucessfully in the past.

If you have XviD installed then chances are you already have a small util for changing fourCC's, if not them you would need to download one.

FourCC is the four letter code that designates what decoder should be used for a file. Such as RV30 for Real Video 8, XVID for XviD DX50 for DivX 5.xx, etc.

So basically if you are having a problem with a 3ivx file, but in the past have converted DivX files without issues, then change it to DivX and all should be ok.
