Aol !!!

Decided to put this in the 'just for laughs' section as it's the best place for it.

A friend of mine who uses AOL (I know, I know!!), he had lots of trouble getting connected. After months of calls to tech help, they sent him an external modem free of charge. I can't remember the brand or model but I have seen this one and I know it's a nice one, about $80 worth. After a recent visit to his house he showed me his new modem and said he was still having problems. I told him to show me what he was doing. Turns out the problem was when he signed on he was putting his username and "@aol" on the end, instead of just his username. That's all it was and the alleged tech help were the ones who told him to do that.

Just shows their lack of knowledge and how desperate AOL is to keep customers, giving away free modems!!! What next? free computer

1 more reason that i would never ever recommend AOL

Any ISP software that trashes Ur other dial-up connections like AOL has a habit of doing, well no wonder they have 2 give it away

At the last count i had about 453 AOL cd's from computer mags & through the door

Thank God they never asked him 2 open his coffee cup holder

if you have not yet figured a use for them heres just one good idea :-

Tip # 1 .... Find the nearest local "SPECIAL NEEDS" center and give them to their SENSORY department !!, they make wonderful reflective mobiles to hang from the ceiling to entertain special needs children

and for free too

tip # 6,00291 from the VIPERS guide to usefulness and things to do with unwanted A.O.L. cds lol

Tip #2 Sell them to local gardeners as "CAT SCARERS" the reflective surface scares cats off their gardens and seeds

But there are some usefull thing you can do with aol if you just look in the right places.I use aol at times because of my kiddies,I
have found some really good things there,but you know aol does suck,as for the disks i use them for my kid pictures they hang good in the cars.lolololo

Yep VIPER.Tried the cat scarers thing a while ago, but guess what i now have 3 cats that have taken up residence

They all just kinda built up over a while, & remember i'm Scottish so i throw nothing away lol

But my once great nightmares have changed from Zombies attackin me(Don't Ask)2 armies of these cursed discs with promises of free trials & a night of passion with Connie(I can dream)

But i will take heed of Ur first tip, there is a school for special needs just down the road from me so they will be going there.If they can be of use to the school then that will make me feel happier

Special needs employment

When I called to order my computer parts I got a brick wall asking about copper heats sinks but they have them on their WEBSITE.

Never had problems with them BEFORE as I knew a lot about what I had wanted to start. No probem as I ordered a $30 high end one from somewhere else.

Like the long ago joke compute rrep that told the owner he was TOO STUPID to have a comoputer. They went the opposite with employees now.

REMEMBER many are KIDS => with an EDUCATION!
(I am overeducated, I see them as IDIOTS or from drunk families not knocking educated).

Hehehehehehehehe.

Or you could send your AOL-CD's to the guys of hxxp://www.nomoreaolscds.org this will make you feel better too. And maybe just maybe they will achieve their goal and teach AOL a lesson.

Just to say I made some rather fetching clocks out of my AOL CD's, and sold em on the market for a tidy profit!

I also did this with my Dads old 'Top of the Pops' LP's from the 70's..........

Up here i seen a pitbull run away from a cat that swiped at it

Hell even im afraid of the cats up here, cause we live in a mountain valley, we also get a lot of Wildcats

Just don't do what i did & mistake 1 of them 4 a regular moggy

postal mail tip

When you go out grab a handful of AOL CDs in that cardboard folder (20+). Then use that in plain envelopes for mailing vs CD mailers. Works great and SO much cheaper.

And the CD's rain down on us from June
Find em in every corner of ASDA and every pc magazine known to man...

That means more clocks for me to make! LOL!!
