Anything better than Nero 6?

I've currently been burning alot of DVDs and SVCDs with Nero 6 Ultra Edition, they come out fine but nero seems very slow when i burn my DVDs/SVCDs.

Anyone recommend or know of a faster burner?

Yes i mean s/ware m8.
I tried a few other s/ware but they all seem the same speed burning DVDs..
Cheers for the help m8 :)

- Nero 5.0.4.8 (won't run under XP, or support new burners without certain tricks- else than that it's the PERFECT Nero version).
- Nero 5.5.X
- Veritas/Stomp/Orlogix/EasySystems RecordNowMax 4.5
- Padus Discjuggler 4.X
- Burnatonce 0.98
- NTI CD/DVD Maker 6.X (bitta silly looking, but quite good soft)
- WinOnCD 5.0.5.862 PE (definitely NOT the 6.X series).
All the above are MUCH better than the Nero 6 bloatware.

?!?!?!:confused:?!?!?!:confused:?!?!?!:confused:

why do people complain about the speed of DVD burning !?

lets get our THINKING CAPS on here a min when it comes to DVD burning !?

You/Anyone are burning APPROX 4.7 GB of data in what about 15-20mins ?! at whatever 2x or 4 x with a DVD BURNER (someone can tell me here the real times as i dont own a dvd burner!)

Whereas you could take anything upto 30plus minutes to burn 700mb of data with a cdrw burner @ the same speed !?

So tell me which is slower !?

@xaero this is not aimed at you bud :)

This is just my thoughts on peoples views that they burn too slowley with DVD burners !? :)

DVD 4x = 5,520kb/s
2x = 2,760kb/s
1x = 1,380kb/s

Using Nero 5.5.10.20 and pioneer A05 a complete DVD (4.45GB) at 2x takes 24 minutes and at 4x takes 14 minutes aprox (few seconds more).

Definetly I can´t complaint about the times, still remember when the only burner I had was a Plextor 4x8 and burning a cd take almost half hour and you still have the risk of buffer underrun.

Faster options are to use a 4x burner with 4x media. The speed for 4x is always 4x, no matter what sw I use. That is what " 4x " means. It is a set speed. If you use any burning program, it relies on the firmware of the burner. Hacked firmware will let you burn the max rate of the burner on certain media, but it is still the same rate.
To burn faster, get one of the new 8x DVD+R burners just coming out. Just pay a fortune now, or wait till next year when they are cheaper.

@weboneando thanks for the times/facts there bud ...you understood my meaning of that post bud :)

@ xaero if you read my post i did say that my point was not directed at you bud just in general :)
