I just love this Free proggy!! (For repairing CD+G files)
I have repaired some of my rare CDGs with it.. ;-)
I have been to the webpage w*w.editcdg.com
The links to the tutorials are not functioning.
Here's some questions that I have:
1. When using the "Clean" option, there are 3 choices. 1- [Remove all unknown commands] 2- [Blank all timing commands] 3- [Set all instructions to play on channel 0]
Why can't I just select the third option by itself?
You must select option 1 in order for the [Clean] button to go active.
I tried all 3 selections and the channels are set to 0, but it doesn't remove the "unknown instructions"
When manually editing, I always convert the "unknown instructions" to Tile Block (XOR) or to whatever is on the list of commands before/after this "unknown instruction"
2. What makes different software players play CDGs in different manners? After "Fixing" a CDG, it will play fine in EditCDG and Karaoke Builder Player, but WinCDG will show just a few, (2-3) Letters, (in song lyrics) with missing tiles, (pixels, not tile blocks).
3. Sometimes a misplaced tile block will also be corrupt, (pixels rearranged), and wrong color for on and off. Is there an easy way to figure out what these are supposed to look like? I have one CDG that I spent 6 hours on and is completely fixed now except the title/logo screen. It has the above condition on 6-7 misplaced tile blocks.
I tried to just place these in the "bad" area and re-arrange the pixels, and change the colors to what the logo should look like. After doing this, I played it with WinCDG, and it looked like I didn't do a thing to the logo, bummer
4. What is the difference between a Tile Block (Xor) and a Tile Block (Normal)?
5. EditCDG has an ini file, anyone know the ini file instructions to make EditCDG "Remember" it's window size/posistion?? (I used to know the entries for this, but have forgotton).
6. I would like as much technical information about EditCDG as there is available.
Anyway, thanks for reading this rant,
Jon_J
