Ami bios

I'm almost done with fixing a computer for a m8,it's an old P2 200mhz with a no-name motherboard,VX pro 2 chipset on it,sound on board and an AMI bios from 1997.....
On my own rig,I have an Award bios,this 1 has a setting to disable onboard audio chips.....My friend wants me to add an audio pci card,that's why I need to disable the onboard SB16,but on the Ami bios of my bud's computer,I can't find such setting,maybe it's covered under another name?. :confused:

Oh,and he has no manual of the motherboard,so I can't play with any jumpers....I don't wanna flash his bios either..... ;)

Use the bios string id to identify the unknown motherboard brand name & model for manuals & bios updates.

I use to run a 440bx mobo with a ami bios. You couldn't disable the sound chip from the bios. I disabled the chip from the Device Manager, and upgraded to a sb128pci card. ran great and still is running in the shop(keeps inventory)

TNX for the replies,guys...:)
@Nunyobiznes:exactly.....the computer is worthless..
PS:I tried google b4 my question,dude;)

It turned out to be an AT tower with FB board, non-existing support and no way to disable the audio chip on the mobo with a jumper,nor in the bios...

I already tried to disable the sb16 at device manager before,but installing the soundcard afterwards,caused a major slowdown on the machine....... today,I showed it too my m8,and he decided to keep his onboard sound:D:D

His "machine" turned out to be a very low quality and low cost computer,even for a Pentium 2 MMX......
:p
