Alcohol Preventing me from reading CDs?

I don't know if Alcohol is the culprit but I currently can not read any CDs. I get an error about it being a format that Windows can't read. I know that the CD is good because I checked it in another machine.

I can't read ANY Cds. But I can create them just fine which is weird. Some suggested that perhaps it was a corrupted install/uninstall of the Alcohol trial I may have installed a while back.

Has anyone had this type of problem before and perhaps have an idea of what I should do?

Here's a link to a thread I started elsewhere on the forum:

Hi :)

Have U troed turning off the "Ignore Illegal Media" option in the emulation section of Alcohol's options? , this is known to cause probs with other cd software & inability to read certain cd's :)

Well, the thing is, Alcohol is not installed and wasn't installed at the time I noticed my inability to read CDs. However, I know I downloaded Alcohol's trial in the past but not sure if I even installed it. But since it's CD drive related I'm checking all avenues to try and prevent having to re-install. Everything else works just fine except this. So re-installing all of Windows just for this would be a pain.
