Alcohol Preventing me from reading CDs?

I don't know if Alcohol is the culprit but I currently can not read any CDs. I get an error about it being a format that Windows can't read. I know that the CD is good because I checked it in another machine.

I can't read ANY Cds. But I can create them just fine which is weird. Some suggested that perhaps it was a corrupted install/uninstall of the Alcohol trial I may have installed a while back.

Has anyone had this type of problem before and perhaps have an idea of what I should do?

Hi

Have U troed turning off the "Ignore Illegal Media" option in the emulation section of Alcohol's options? , this is known to cause probs with other cd software & inability to read certain cd's

Alochol can prevent you from reading BLANKS, if the above option is ticked in, but not burned CD's.

Well, the thing is, Alcohol is not installed and wasn't installed at the time I noticed my inability to read CDs. However, I know I downloaded Alcohol's trial in the past but not sure if I even installed it. But since it's CD drive related I'm checking all avenues to try and prevent having to re-install. Everything else works just fine except this. So re-installing all of Windows just for this would be a pain.
