Advanced AVI Splitter

Hi All

Got a wee problem.. and totally stumped.....

Got an AVI file bigger than a 700MB disc... So cut it into two using Advanced AVI Splitter..... Then burnt it Using Nero.... But it plays image upside down...????

The original file is fine... The cut version is fine when played from the hard disk.. it is just the Disc copy that is screwed... HELP

Thanks

So you just burnt it as data and did not convert to VCD?

What codec is it and what are you using for playback. Also have you installed anything like Nimo codec pack?

Generally a vertical flip is caused be an incorrect YV12 to RGB colourspace conversion.

Anyway, I guess I will move this over to the DivX forum as I think that forum is more relivant.

Hi there

Well loaded more codex than you can shake a stick at to get this to work.. Forgotten which ones now.. but nimo sounds like it was in there...

Burning as a VCD, capture from a Camcorder....

Just found a thread in Divx for upside down moves.... It said encoded it before burning to MP3... So Nero doesn't do it... So will try that.. thanks for your help...

So you did convert it to VCD? From your post it sounded like you just burnt it as data.

I am guessing that it is an XviD AVI then and that Nero did perform at YV12 to RGB convertion without correcting the flip.

Opps... Sorry mate, a bit new to all this melarkie...

I did use Nero to burn it to VCD, it does the Video encoding there...

Did try TMPG to convert it to MP3, but it kept on about "Unable to open file or Not supported" Hench more codex than I knew what to do with..

Advanced AVI Splitter read it, split it and saved it all OK.. Syc, piture almost as good as professtionals.. but..... No matter what I do it is upside down... All the software came with the Camcorder.. so you think it would work.. And not a metion of having to get other codex...???

Have tried it on Windows 98 and XP... the same thing happens... Thinking now about standing on me head... ;o)

Thanks CM

Well Gspot.. Says it is Xvid / MPEG4.... Got the Codec from Nick's.. Now it says Error at BFF7A125 with KERNEL32.dll with 0077FF10???

I could just tell everyone it was a wedding video from Oz.. ;o)

May have cracked it, just killed the registry entrys off, un-installed prog, and re-insatelled it... TMPGe is now running fine... Thanks to all for you help... ;o)

Just tried converting a small XviD clip with Nero for the hell of it... It came out up the correct way up. So I don't know why everyone else gets upside down video when converting XviD to VCD with Nero.

Also just for the record, if you use DVD2SVCD to convert avi's to VCD or SVCD and have up-side down problems, then the program actually has a box to tick to flip it the right way around. Easier than standing on your head. :D

DVD2SVCD uses AVISynth to frameserve, yes (never actually used it)?

If so then all it is doing is FlipVertical() which can easily be done without it.

Hey
wow! I have the same problem. I've tried so many programs but still upside down. PLease HELP me out if you already got it figured out.
Thanks in advance

What programs have you tried to convert it with? Also what codec does the file use for video?

As I said you can easily flip a video with AVISynth simply with FlipVertical().

OK
I used the advanced avi splitter to cut the movie in 2 and then used nero to burn it as VCD and played in dvd player and it came upside down.
Now whats AVISynth????
OR if possible please tell me step by step and the programs i need to burn it on CD R.
Thank You Again

Are you letting NERO convert the file before burning !?

does it prompt you to convert the file when making a VCD ?!

nero is a pain in the butt for most people when using it and letting it convert you mpgs :(

I agree, I would never recommend using Nero for the actual conversion, however that said, I did tests and I could not replocate the flipping video problem. So I would suggest that anyone who experiances it and still wants to use Nero for the encoding, update whatever video codec the file uses.

As for AVISynth, bit of a pain to use with Nero as Nero can't open AVISynth script files so you have to use AVIS.

I followed what the chicken man's has listed to go from avi to vcd. I got an error saying "Can't Load "P3Package.dll" ??????????? I really don't know what to do. And can't seem to understand how everyone else can do it and i'm trying forever and can't get it.
