ADSL Modem

 I want to buy Digital Modem for ADSL. Could you tell me which modem or which brand is good (Price also the factor)

That will all depend on who your ISP will be Dark$ide.
Some modems will not be compliant with the setup your ISP is using, so would suggest you either just go with the ones they will provide, or find out which have standards compliant to the ISP you will be using.
They are not all the same globally (too bad no universal one).

 I thought I can buy what ever I want buy just like analog modem but rag!! I have to inquire information from them. Thank m8.

Well it is possible that I am mistaken Dark$ide. I know in North America you can pretty much buy whichever they sell there, but here in Asia it isn't quite like that.
Reason being that here they all have different standards for communication. Some have ADSL, while others G.Lite/G.DMT. Then you will have SDSL. Some modems can't handle one or the other.
A good modem that I know that can handle all of those is the Alcatel Speed Touch Home (w/max of 8Mbps).
However I would question the cost efficiency of you buying your own if the ISP will provide their own for you to use (especially since internet 2 is mostly heading out sometime next 2 years).

I use alcatel speed touch usb (lol aka the sexy blue manta ray!!!) and it rocks most people that i know on ADSL are using them too ! an no doubt JORIPES on one too as hes on the same isp as me :D an yeah upto 8mbps as "shadoe_phantom" quite rightly said !
see more here for info ....>

h**p://w*w.speedtouch.co.uk

yes its a uk link im in the uk lol but no doubt they have them worldwide :D

it works flawlessly and rips up to max speed no bother depending on its workload!!! i find it works better the more its downloading or being used :D well thats what i have noticed heheh !!! average 40-60k a second on a 300meg download on kazaa from another adsl user of course! bur remember if its from a modem user then you can only ever download as fast as there upload speed which on modem is only ever 33.6k F.Y.I.

general useage for web sites and pages its instant loading and shockwave and flash are a breeze ! no waiting :D

so i can say from personal usage that the speed touch is a fine modem indeed !!

cost me £100 as part of my deal with my isp but i get a 12 month warrenty and telephone backup support from my isp !

recent price changes with my isp there now £85 with backup etc !!

retail depends on who and where you get it from !?

other bits to note ..... ITS USB you must have usb to use it ! most puters do but some still dont !!

easy to set up with driver disk included usually if its supplied from yer isp it will have yer isp setup software on the disk too !! :D

and thats about it for my little review of the alcatel speedtouch :D
