Adobe Premiere 6.5 help (exporting to dvd help)

Hi guys

i have just exported my movie to adobe mpeg encorder to make a dvd but the final dvd size is larger than 4.7. Anybody know how to adjust the settings for it to be 4.7gb, its a very technical piece of software, not as straight forward as the others!

thanks

dave

Been such a long time since I Premiere and then it was for CDD's anyway. There has to be a bitrate somewhere you can set. Lower it as that utimately determines the final file size (with the length of the movie in time).

If it not there or you cant find it, then just use Shrink to shrink it to dvdr size.

i did first try shrinking it but it doeasnt work, an error msg comes up. Do i need to lower the max bitrate? theres max, min and average.

thanks

It the Average setting that you need to change. The Min & Max are the settings it can vary between. If the average is currently set at say 7000 and the final dvd size came out to 5.50 gb then to get it down to 4.30gb then I'd set Average B/R to about 5400.

What DVD program are you using? If you have DVDIT LE that comes with 6.5 forget it. I had to upgrade to DVDit PRO to get it to work right. I use Adobe Pro now and I drag an AVI into DVDIT PRO and it encodes and compresses my video to fit on a DVD disc.

cant remember haveing dvdit software with it, exporting from adobe is a pain because you dont know what settings will fit onto a 4.7 dvd. Do you acess DVDIT le from adobe premiere? ifos how? is DVDIT PRO better? you have a link? is this softwares name shortened? or is that the full name?

thanks mate

one other thing, i make home movies, add titles, special effect. do i have to export to avi first and then use dvdit? or can i simply drag it from adobe 6.5? my editing board is pinnacle 500dvd which is not compatible with premiere pro, so i have to stick with premiere 6.5.
