I have the whole Nero 6 package, but only have Nerovision Express2 on my PC at the moment.

I have a series of home videos of varying volume. Is tehre a way to adjust them so they all come out around the same.

On another note, what would be the best way to adjust the contrast on a black & white video to make the finished DVD look better?

Well normalising the audio should help, although I have no idea if Nero can do that, well I am sure that the audio editor can, but not sure about NVE.

Also no idea if NVE can adjust contrast, etc. You could however frameserve with AVISynth and use that to make the adjustments. Don't think that NVE can accept AVS's as input though so you would also need to use ffdshow's MakeAVIS.

Nerovision express can't edit anything. You can't adjust video properties, you can't adjust audio properties, all you can do is make fancy menus.
If you really need to edit the videos, you are going to need specialized tools for both audio and video, depending if the original is an avi or mpeg.

Swell.

Well, somewhere around here, I have something called...."Symphony" or something like that? It supposedly lets you split the soundtrack off and do all sorts of things to it. Maybe I'll have to have a look at it.

Well if you use AVISynth you can do the audio on the fly simply using Normalize() and Amplify() or AmplifyDB().

For the video you can use Levels() or Tweak() to adjust the contrast. Info on all functions is in the docs.
