additional hdd

hi
err i need some help on this....
all my ide on my mbm r full ,2 hdd ,2 optical drives..is possible 2 add 1 or more hdd drives using a pci ide card?& if so,where will it appear in bios & when starting up the pc?
thx & regards ;)

2 ways

i) PCI Raid card (not tried this)

ii) Mobo with Raid onboard (this I use so I have 2 HDD on Raid & DVD burner/DVDROM/2 x LiteOn Burners on IDE slots <> works fine.

And still another way:

-- Purchase a scsi adapter and a scsi harddrive. There's really fine equipment out there to be had for very reasonable prices (sorry, Serjer, I'd suggest some sites, but I'm not sure whether it's the North American, European, or Asian market you have easiest access to).

@ bionic those are what I meant with "PCI Raid Card"
U are right they are "IDE PCI cards" not Raid.

SCSI may be the answer but big SCSI drives are dearer by far than IDE but they "allegedly" workfaster.

ahhaha np u pay 4 me:D...which one u want 40,60 maxtor or 20gb quantum...bizin delivery?:D:D
no way i'll be buying RAID or scsi...2 expensive 4 a poor student like me...
thx,but wat i wanted 2 know is how will it be detected in bios & windoz, anyway thx :)

The other way is to use an external USB-IDE adapter - speed on USB1 would be a joke, but speed on USB2 (with a USB2-IDE gizmo) would be acceptable.
