add & remove problems

Hi does anyone know of a way to clear an item from the add and remove software section in control panel ? i have a program listed there that will not clear properly and it is stopping me from doing a re-install of it because setup finds it on my pc.

go and find the install shield installer infomation inprogram files or your windows directory, delete it and u should be able to reinstall the program
