AC3 Delay_83ms

Hi,

Can anybody please explain to me how to get a dvd-r in synch.

I`ve ripped using Smart Ripper, converted to AVI with DVD2AVI converted to a format that CCE can use, then resampled the video.
I am using Maestro to author.

The Audio file is "AC3 TO1 3_2ch 384Kbps DELAY -83ms.ac3"

I have tried ac3delay and converted to 0 delay but that makes it even worse.

Thanks.

What I use for out of sync Mpeg files is"Mpeg2VCR" is has a setting in it"s multiplexor for fixing these types of delay problems.. you just load in your audio and you video then click the AV-Sync button and set it to the delay that it says in your audio file name..I use it all the time and it works like a chaRM...:p

open the original Ifo file (mainmovie) and take a look at the mainmovie .... which Id´s r used by it ? use Vobrator to look at this id´s ! .... strip logos or copyright warnings ...and try to demux it again ... what delay have they now ?

The film uses ID 3 & 4 (PGC01)

I put put them thru Vobrator and after demuxing I have this :-

0x20 - Subtitle - English / LBA: 26634 / PTS: 00:00:53.632 / Delay: 53503ms
0x21 - Subtitle - Français / LBA: 26633 / PTS: 00:00:53.632 / Delay: 53503ms
0x80 - Audio - AC3 / 6ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 6642 / PTS: 00:00:00.044 / Delay: -84ms
0x81 - Audio - AC3 / 6ch / 48kHz / DRC / Français / LBA: 6641 / PTS: 00:00:00.044 / Delay: -84ms
0x82 - Audio - AC3 / 2ch / 48kHz / DRC / English / LBA: 6643 / PTS: 00:00:00.044 / Delay: -84ms
0xE0 - Video - MPEG-2 / 720x480 (NTSC) / 16:9 / Letterboxed / LBA: 6637 / PTS: 00:00:00.128 / Delay: 0ms

hmm... u shouldn´t demux it via Vobrator ... u should only check the ID´s --> now open IfoEdit select VOBEXTRAS--> STRIP IDs and keep ID3 & 4

I quote what i have found and used myself this in my efforts and it works for me. This is assuimg you are in Maestro already and about to load in your video and audio files. If you require more info on the link i will supply. Tell us how you get on.

' Drag your AC3 File into the start of the Audio timeline below the video one. To get Maestro to read the Timecode of the video and lock the AC3 to it and correct any offsets automatically, right click on the audio track and select "Create Sync Audio Track". Highlight your video track in blue from the list at the top of the new window then click on "assign audio file". Steer the explorer to the location of your AC3 file on your drive and then click on the "Sync Audio Timecode" tickbox on the bottom left which will become ungreyed, turning this box on. Then hit "Create Audio File" and create a new AC3 file, this new AC3 file will be perfectly synced to the Timecode of the Video. If it then asks to replace file in the timeline say "yes". '

EUREKA !! I`ve done it. i ripped the the PGC`s with decyptor and put the AC3`s thru AC3Corrector and bingo all in synch.

I am at present merging the new vts_vobs into the original rip and when I write I hope to have a full working DVD-R with menus.

When I have burnt it I will let you know.

Thanks for all your time and trouble really appreciated.
