If you were trying from Windows, you need to go from DOS - in fact, I wouldn't consider attempting to run DOS-mode flashing programs under Windows at all!
My advice? - wait for someone who knows more about the specifics (I don't), or explore the other forum (10 page thread) and draw your own conclusion.
