a little worried

Hello all I'm back.......i was wondering ( alittle worried lets say) i have been to few sitez lately that do these "scare the crap out of em" test to tell you about you pc vunvabilities on the net.

one showed me the contents of my hard drive??????yet i have sygate firewall installed and that flags nothing.

.i have also been to the sygate website and checked my pc on the simulation and they recon there are no vunvabilities so i'm a little worried.

.i'm running pc-cillin with all the toys.....and all the current updates..sygate is version 5 build 956 has anyone got any ideas???????please help

Don't worry, I think that what shows the content of your Hd is a simple script (java or something) that make you think they can see everything, that's not true, only you can see it.. ;)

if you look in the browser bar when it shows yer hard drive does it say sumthin like ///c: or similar !? then its a script as mentioned above to try scare ya as it seems it has done into duping you into buyin there products or software etc etc !! its a lame simple trick to catch people and fake the fact that its merely doing a directory of yer c drive in yer browser as you can do yerself with any window of a browser by typing the letter of the drive or folder name in the address bar !! try not to panic "SYGATE" will be doing its job no worries there ! :D

i feel better now cheers

Cheers one and all

I thought sygate was working fine these sitez need nuking i really didn't know how easy it was for them to be able to show you this info...i class myself as a intermediate pc user and i was fooled so lets spare a thought to all those novice users who have been conned by these sitez....

respect

Worried?

Here you can test your sygate firewall h**p//w*w.grc.com on the shields up page, and see that everyting is alright. I myself using also the mentioned wall, and have no prob's with it.
Don't let them fool you!! There is also an update out "sygate IDSupdatepatch" this is sygate 1120, you can search for it in the forum, or download it from the sygate-site. Happy surfing!!
