Thanks to wealth of information here, and the helpfulness of the community who posts here, I've had a lot of success using DVDStripper to back up my DVD collection. I'm interested in keeping only the movie, with scene selection, and between DVDStripper, DVD2One and MenuEdit, it's pretty much a breeze. This is one fine piece of software.
I do have a couple of questions and found some related threads here, but they don't quite answer my questions.
While in DVDStripper, after deciding what titlesets/chapters to keep and what not to, should the process step end without any errors. I understand that what I have left may not be a valid DVD structure, but I'm asking about IfoEdit having errors. I encountered the "No TimeMap table" error that others have had while IfoEdit is running. From those threads it seems as though there have been a few solutions, like rebooting or replacing some System32 files (though some of the links from that thread are now dead, links that lead to the details). I've tried rebooting after each disk and it seems to help quite a bit. But am I right in assuming that no matter what I decide to keep I should not see any IfoEdit errors? Anyone have a solution for this problem?
I've also seen it suggested that maybe the machine is too fast. I do not think I fall into that category. It's a 2.4 P4.
For the record, what I see in IfoEdit is "Some files have changed. Really Exit without Saving?" then "There is no TimeMap Table. Skipping TMap creation." If it's only those two, then the process still produces something workable. Sometimes those two messages are followed by "There's something wrong. The IFO End selector does not match the file size." after which XP offers to send off some reports (I decline). If this happens, then the process is hosed.
Thanks!
