9.xx GB blank dvd-r's

If I were to buy the 9.xx blank dvd-r's, would I then be able to dupe a perfect dvd with the Sony DRU-500A? I have the 1.0f firmware update installed and would appreciate any feed back (as you can tell, Im still new to this area of burning) Thx!

I have read that most movies are duel layer.
I don't know if the average burner does this.

There are no 9.4 gig DVDR blanks (DVD9) available to the retail trade and there are no retail burners capable of burning the duel layer.

There were however double sided single layer DVDR's available but not sure if there has been any demand for them and if they are still available.

I've seen double sided discs for sale, but you may as well use 2 discs.
They get damaged very easily and are very difficult to label.

They are double sided discs. 4.7 gig each side
