2 Svcd files joining them a problem

I have a movie which is 2 svcd files and i want to join them together i use tmpgenc to join them but when i join them the 2nd part of the movie seems to go out of sync ,how can i fix this??

the movie is

NTSC 480 X 480

29.97fps

Video 2230 AVG 2450MAX VBR

Audio 224kbs 44.1kh

Had that prob too.
Seems like tmpgenc cuts the audio of the first part too early, leaving the last seconds of the 1st part with no audio.
Whem merging the files, audio of 2nd file starts from that 'too early' point, causing that sync prob.
You could verify that by doing de-mux on both parts.

I solved this problem by using Goldwave (or any other audio editing sw) for joining the 2 COMPLETE audio files I demuxed from the original parts. Keep this file aside.
Then I did the regular 'cut and join', resulting a combined mpg file with bad audio.
Using mux (not simple mux), I replaced the bad audio with the good one I made before with Goldwave.

hope it works for you...

Why Mux and not simple Mux?

Another soultion is to use Wombles MPEG-VCR to join them.
Will MPEG-VCR allow for simple joins? Or does it transcode (or re-encode) everything? This is not obvious from the docs.

aybesea,
if we choose using the "save" without more options,
MPEG-VCR allow for simple joins!

thanks again CM,i learn in another thread !

Goldwave is a fantastic audio program, I use it all the time myself.

Hi Chickenman,

There was an article here in the forum about compiling/burning more than one SVCD movies to a single DVD-R but I could not find it anymore. Can you direct me to this section please ?
I want to try it out but I need that steps on how to do this and the software/s needed for this procedure.

Thanks,

Sorry doesnt ring a bell but we do have a SEARCH button at the top that you can use just as well as me.

But you can always use TMPGEnc DVD Author.

Can you please tell me how to join my two bbMPEG muxed files as one is too large to put unto vcd disc the other is ok. I have TMPGEnc. Is there an easy way? Also can I adjust a setting in DVD2SVCD to stop this from happening again?

If u r trying to put svcd on dvd then dont bother joining them.
Just author them as 2 seperate movies and link the end of the first to the start of the second.

The size of the CD in the Bitrate Tab of DVD2SVCD determines the cut point for bbMPEG. Its set at 740 or 800 normally for 74min & 80min CDR's. If they come out a bit to big for you then just change them to, say, 730 and 790.
