2 Disk DVD-r to 1 Disk DVD-r

Ok , a freind of mine has a movie which has been backed-up onto 2 DVD-r's
(not sure what software was used)
What i want to do is join them and compress them onto 1 DVD-r ?
(using IC8 for the compression bit)

Any suggestions on what software to use to join them ?

Not sure if IC8 can do the job but both Shrink (free) or DVD2One (cheap) can do the job for you.

What if i do it with shrink with no compression onto my HD and then compress it with IC8, will that do it ?

The film is over 3hrs long , thats why id prefer to compress with IC.
