$ 1000 is also a monster price though... but having in mind that a large SCSI harddisk costs almost as much it might even be considered a trua bargain- IF it is reliable.
Lacie has a very good market reputation.
 
It's even backward compatible with USB 1.1 - now let's see, One terabyte at 12 Mbit/s would take HOW long?

Over a week, by my reckoning, and that's assuming the the USB 1.1 is delivering continuous maximum throughput - but actually, I thought there was a 50% limit for any one device - which would make it 2 weeks continuous!
