0.99 problem\bug ??

I was burning an iso with 0.99 and liteon 48125w, but when i tried to read it in my LDW-401S i got crc errors or\and invalid filestructure on disk messages. Tried to read using the 48125w and result was ok.
After updating firmware and checking most i could think of(same result), I reinstalled 0.98 and guess what, no problems at all.
Tried several disks same result 0.99->bad 0.98->good.

Someone else experiencing something like this(with other readers\writers)??
And might this be a bug(or just plain ignorance on my part :D)?

Note that not all upto date firmwares are perfect... so stay with wat you gotz or revert to previous state... :D

Come to think of it, i updated from 0.98 but didnt delete the old ini file. Could that be the cause??, will check and get back.

My xperience with burnatonce is that you better do a fresh install (removing old version included) than updating or overwriting the existing files......

CRC checksum errors in the copy is 99.99% of the times a media, and not a software error... getting many of them with some 48X certified Prodisk media, while I never had/have such problems with older Prodisk media, stamped or not. Seems like an unlucky badge- sometimes my Liteon burner cannot even mount the blank media properly... unfortunately, having great results with former Prodisk badges I bought 200 of them, 15 remaining to get rid of...

OK! got it sorted. Turned out it was the ldw-401s not being able to read cds burned with raw driver enabled in bao(both 0.98 and 0.99).

so probably the LDW is not the problem, May be you got too many C2 errors when using the raw driver? try to check the CDR in Arrowkey's CDR Inspector/Diagnostic (or similar) with a drive which is able to report C2 errors;

Checked with both cd/dvd diag and k-probe. No c2 errors with the 48125w. But with the ldw its all f*cked (both drives support c2 btw:)). Strange thing though! cd/dvd diag first read the disc as ok but after a couple of scans(first with no errors then with x% soft errors) it shows a block size of zero and when refreshed it reads the disc as unknown data track.
Have btw tried burning different images(one of my win2k cd which i know for sure is ok) ->still errors.

Shall try other burning soft in raw mode and get back :)

Burned a divx, both with discjuggler and bao(0.99a) in raw mode. No probs reading the dj cd, same probs with the one burned with bao.

just read the Arrowkey help file, you shouldn't test the result in the same drive where the CD-R was written, because it will almost always not find errors;

about the DJ and BAO comparison, maybe you should report your error in the official BAO support forum at BAO's HP; if it's really a BAO problem, Jamieo would like to hear about;

Duracell :
Well! Have to test with what ive got :)
Im about to head over to the bao forums, just want to test some more first.

Roadworker :
You mean the 48125w? its there and listed with generic, mmc and raw. Also bao recommends using raw driver when burning with the 48125w.

Thx guys!! from now on i will post on this at the boa forums :)
