    help with QUENC and subtitles

    can someone tell me (and it is possible) how to made permanent subtitles while enconding avi in quenc into svcd i know there are program that do it automaticly - but after i have reinstales my os xp sp2 - those programs just wont work like they should i have tried filmmachine - tempeg - diko etc
