    avi file to dvd

    i recently downloaded a avi file of swat dvd rip, then i burned the film to dvd r disc and when i tryed to play it on a dvd player it would not work this was my first time burning a dvd it still works on my pc but not on the dvd player can anyone help me??? :confused:
