What is runtime error -2147203637 (800445cb)?

As soon as I saved a project file with a long name, this error showed up with a crash and DVDStripper will no longer run. I've tried running from different directories to no avail. How to get rid of this? Should I remove all the DVDStripper registry entries?

What's on the "to do" list?

What types of things might show up in the next release? I'm also specifically interested in some sort of de-splitter. IOW, given 2 "split" discs, it would be nice to be able to recombine them into one single file set. Why do this? Playing from hard drive or upcoming higher-density mediums. Any...

How to recover from a system crash?

DVDStripper 0.3.0 was processing the 2nd DVDR IFO set from a split when the destination drive ran out of space. This caused DVDStripper to crash. The Backup directory appears to have all the partial files which are to be assembled for DVDR 1 as well as the files which were marked to be removed...

    green flashing on disc 2

    OK, this is a little hard to explain and I'm not going to tell the title but I just did a split like this: Item List Menu Item List 1- 39 both 1- 42 both 40- 43 disc 1 44- 55 disc 2 56- 83 disc 1 84- 88 disc 2 89- 90 disc 1 91-784 disc 2 785-947 disc 1 What's...

    lesson from the battlefield

If IfoEdit stops and gives you a message about a missing timestamp, take a look in the destination direcotries to figure out where it stopped processing. Each time I've seen this message it's because an item in the left column exists without a corresponding item in the right column. Because of...

Option to force title or root menu on disc load?

How about an option to force the title or root menu as the first play item? I've seen cases where DVDStripper has removed nag screens and also removed that command. The result is a disc which starts with the first play item, not the menu. That's really more of a parsing issue but this might be...

    load/save job

It would be really nice if there was a way to save and load the settings in the removal screen. For really complex jobs, sometimes you just have to walk away to let your brain cool. It would also be real helpful for rebuilding back to full size for hard drive playback or use with higher-density...

    TimeMap table error

I'm splitting a highly complex disc. There are 500 entries in the items list and just over 20 in the menu list. IfoEdit has stopped during creation of disc 1 with an error message: There is no TimeMap table! Skipping TMap table creation What causes this? AFAIK, all the menu items and menu...

    Idiot-proofing

Rip and process a disc then rename the destination directory . Press the process button and DVDStripper crashes because it can't find a directory where the destination field says one exists, requiring a complete restart including re-ripping. Idiot-proofing would be nice to prevent this kind of...

Looks like DVDStripper 0.2.0 has an overflow.

I'm processing a source disc for which one of the elements, as broken out in the temporary directory, has a length of 2,327,158 KB. This is reported by DVDStripper as -1867146. Sure looks like an overflow due to register size to me. What say you?

    directory path field name oddities

In the Job Setup area there are 3 fields for directory paths, each with a different style of name. Wouldn't it make more sense for all of them to have the same form, perhaps standardize on the word "path" or "folder"? If you click on the browser button "R" to the right of a directory path field...

Hardware ID appears to be lenient about secondary drives

One of the concerns I had about DVDStripper was swapping hard drives on an IDE controller in a PCI slot. Well, whatever the hardware checksum does, it doesn't appear to look at these drives. Woohoo!!! Another option for swapping drives without triggering the copy protection would be USB drive...

split disc IFOs from #2 don't play nice with PowerDVD 4

I've done a rip and split with DVDStripper from a 2-layer original DVD. The original has 5 VTS groups. Group 4 is the main program and was split between discs. VTS groups 1, 2, 3 and 5 are all assigned to disc 1. VTS 00 has 3 items, the second of which was selected for removal. After...

    How to re-combine split discs?

Suppose you've made a 2-disc backup of a dual-layer original. How then would you recombine the files to make a single fileset for use from a hard drive/virtual drive or burning to dual-layer media? I'm looking for a seamless playback method...

    DVDStripper is mangling DVDFab organization

I've noticed DVDStripper is mangling DVDFab "insert disc 2" VOBs which screws everything up. I've used DVD Decrypter and DVDFab to prep a lot of my originals for DVDR and was hoping to use DVDStripper to remove nag screens, previews, and other "junk." Because of this, the DVDFabbed stuff has to...

Auto Play and Force Player exit

I've just made a backup of disc 1 of Shaka Zulu. I removed static item 1 from VTS 00. Now, the menu doesn't come up. I see the opening sutdio credits display then my hardware DVD player reports a disc error. If I hit the menu button on the player's remote, things seem to work fine from then on...
