I've seen that Sony is going to be releasing a dual-layer DVD+R recorder very soon. These will hold around 9.4GB, and I am considering getting one. The deciding factor would be if I could backup DVD movies without having to rip the video to my HDD first. Will this be possible using copy DVD...
