ok, thinking of buying a dvd recorder , i've burned heaps of vcds/svcds out in the past, my question is can i burn out svcds on to dvd-r media, if i can then i can get 2 films on one dvd at svcd level, is it only the media that has changed or is there a completly new set of rules with dvd media...

hi i have a philips dvdr880 which supports dvd+r and +rw is it possible to copy dvds once the macrovision is disabled . iask this as i know that the disks that i use are 4.7gb single layer and ive heard that a lot of the dvds available are dual layered making them 9.4gb i didnt want to wast...
