Mask, will you consider updating TFM 1.6.1 to work in Wondows 7?

      Mask,

Everything appears to work in TFM 161 in Windows 7 except all the old DOS DVDAuthor.exe and such SW.

Since you've already stated you cannot release the 2.0 you talked about.

Would you consider fixing/updating the current TFM to work with Windows 7?
Change the authoring SW that TFM uses?

      Thanks

BTW..Rejig works GREAT for DVD Authoring.
It's inconveinent, but I use TFM..let dvdauthor error out
Open up rejig..use the m2v video file from tfm and the ac3 or dts file (only if it's 16 bit)
If it's not 16 and its 24...I have to use MKVextract and then the new Eac3to3.22 with Arcsoft DTS decoder to convert from DTS 24 to AC3 16 (5.1 of course)

No, I don't have plans because with most users it just works on Windows 7. Also I don't have the developer environment of the old TFM so can't update it.

      Windows 7 and TFM

Hi, I'm using the latest TFM beta and windows 7 ultimate 32bit, and it works like a charm. Check here: Dowload the latest beta version of The FilmMachine as I posted some info on how to run TFM on windows 7 with no problems, it might help you. Cheers.

      r0,

that beta is before the 1.6.1..so 1.6.1 should be better than the beta
I've tried compatibility mode...I keep getting to the point of dvdauthor and then it fails

well, it works for me as I posted everything I use as software, and I have no problems. try it out, see if it does the job, since I dont intend for the moment tu update my installation

yea I am getting dvdauthor errors also, I cant figure out why it keeps doing it
it happens like every other conversion

And it seems now every conversion the encodes are always oversized. it happens with both hcenc and cce. Before rejig was used maybe 1 time out of 10. now rejig is used almost everytime

I'm sorry but I don t have any time the coming year to work on TFM and TFM Audio Tool. This because of work and study.

I have released an update for The FilmMachine with a new version of DVDAuthor (version 0.6.18) that should work on Windows 7. Also HC Encoder is updated to version 0.25. You can download it from my website. Make sure that TFM version 1.6.1 is installed before updating.

thank you for nice news as i really prefer hc to cce and procoder.hc in best profile gives really good picture on my tv and its faster then procoder.i tryed it after i had problems with one movie-encoding was finishing at 20 minutes before the end of movie, and after 7-8 trys,i did it with hc and it went good so its my favorite encoder now-till first problem
      Here are complete logs so you might find something;
All movies were good with procoder except im2,and all were good with hc

I think Mplex was the problem and not Canopus, you see in the log:

I understand what are you saying as it looks like that mplex was doing something wrtong??but the strange thing is that every time procoder cutted encoding at same place-around 1. and 43 minutes and hcenc encoded it right..
I tryed it again 3 more times and every time same thing with procoder..
btw it worked everytime, but the movie was short...Also,when i was checking the movie file-video only-m2s or something like that it was only 3gb and lenght was 1hour 43 minutes everytime,so encoder stopped encoding-is that correct??
