As always.works great.........
Keep up the great work
Thx
I have never used the program before but I already like it.
I have 4 comments tho.
1. I want it to keep the original size and add borders. If i do a preview i don't see those black borders. I am encoding now so í hope it will be added even tho i don't see it in the preview.
2. The Xvid I am encoding is 29.27 fps. This is the information the Filmmachine gave me. Since it can give this kind of information it would be nice if it also added that its NTSC. Usefull for the newbie who doesn't know if it should click on the option NTSC --> PAL or the other way around.
3. Once it starts encoding I can't scroll through the status window anymore. For instance the audio conversion window stays on top.
4. I had already started the making of the DVD when i realised that i had forgotten to click the option "Shutdown Windows" Its not possible to click this option anymore after it has started. This leaves me no choice than to abort the process and start all over again.
I really love the program tho, keep up the good work.
1) Post your *.log files and the *.avs file. Did you edit the avisynth script?
2) I don't know if TFM handles 29.97 (NTSC) files very well. Best is to use 25 fps (PAL) or 23.976 (NTSC) files.
3) Can't change that, just wait for the audio conversion to finish.
4) You can enable this during conversion, just have to wait until the audio conversion has finished, or before that.

Hello,
Thank you for your very useful program! From what I saw, it is mainly targeted at DivX->DVD enthusiasts (it looks like that CCE is informed that the input video is progressive, top-field-first, and has square pixels). But what about people like me who plan to convert their collection of home-made DV movies into DVDs? It would be great if in your program there was an option "DV video", which would:
- remove all resizing/borders in AVS script (DV AVI files have exactly the same resolution and pixel aspect ratio as corresponding DVD - both for NTSC and PAL, and the same frames per second), - though it can be done even now by editing AVS script;
- tell CCE (and other encoders) that the video is interlaced (this is for the majority of people who have non-professional interlaced camcorders), and that it is bottom-field first.
A question: what is the assumed maximum bitrate for VBR encoding in TFM?
Another issue: many people mentioned that when using TFM with CCE SP, the encoder uses only 60-70% of CPU cycles. Someone suggested that it's only for 64-bit Windows. I have the same problem, and I use regular 32-bit Win XP SP2. Actually the problem is with the CCE encoder itself - when I run it stand-alone, it again uses only 60-70% of CPU. And the reason most probably is in CCE not supporting Hyper-threading technology from Intel (look at CCE web site). My CPU is Pentium 530J with HT (3.0GHz).
i have the same problem whith last 2.70 CCE Version, but i have downgraded to CCE 2.67.00.27 and works great and is more fast (i have AMD 64 3000+).Originally Posted by pulsar123
one question more... when will be implemented dual audio suport?
thanks
Don't know, I have not much time at the moment.Originally Posted by layer

Of course I want to implement it, but can you post an Avisynth script sample and an ecl file sample so I can see what settings I have to change.Originally Posted by pulsar123
The minimum and maximum bitrates I use are:
VCD_Video_Bitrate = 1150;
VCD_Audio_Bitrate = 224;
Max_SVCD_Bitrate = 2754;
Min_SVCD_Bitrate = 800;
Max_DVD_Bitrate = 9800;
Min_DVD_Bitrate = 2000;

To The_Mask:
Thank you for the prompt reply! Here's settings for CCE SP 2.70:
the way to do it depends on the version of CCE; in 2.70 you should uncheck "Top fields first" in Advanced settings and "Progressive frame" in Picture Quality; also set Block Scan Order to Alternate.
The AVS file needs to contain only two lines:
AviSource("...", false)
ConvertToYUY2()
To layer:
On my Pentium HT machine, all CCE from 2.50 to 2.70 have this problem (<70% of CPU load). Playing with priorities does not help much. Your AMD processor is apparently better supported by CCE. TMPGenc, e.g., does support HT, and uses 100% CPU on my machine, but even with HT support it is much slower than CCE.
I'm attempting to install the latest beta (1.5.0.11) on my Windows ME machine. During the installation process, I get an error message. The pop-up is labeled "Registry Editor." The error message is: Cannot import ac3filter.reg: The specified file is not a registry script. You can only import registry files.Originally Posted by The_Mask
I went to the AC3 folder and attempted to manually register the file - didn't happen.![]()
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
JamboJim
Just try to run it and afterwards look in the registry for the key and see if there are values in it.
