      problems combining 2 subs/2avi

      Hello,

i wonder if any one had problesm combining 2 avis and 2 subs.
The result of avi to dvd with TheFilmMAchine (v1.4) is great, but there are no subs.

The combined sub file is only 1kb when i look in the temp directory.

      Hope some can help.

      Hi

i will give it an other try tonight...and post the log file.

My first thought it was caused by using a *sub file containing more languages. So i ripped the English-version out of it (with VobSUbStripper), creating a new *.sub.
But it had the same prob.

I will let you know more asap.

      thanx

      added LOG

      Good morning,

i addded the log of the encode i did last night of the same movie. I renamed it a bit so i could post it as attachment.
IF you look at the part of the subtitles you can see it is a bit weird

Hope it helps to solve the problem.

I think it might be caused by the type of the *.sub
I can see and select different languages from this file when i use VobSub and mediaplayer classic.
As a test i ripped all but the english language file from the *.sub.
Sadly enough it still doesn't show the subtitles. So I guess this type of subtitles is unsupported.

You must use textbased subtitle files not binary subtitle files. I think you used a sub file wich comes with an idx file. They are binary.

Yes sorry... i did some testen/searching myself also

i first stripped the other languages from the idx/sub file.
Then i used (Vob)Sub resync to save it as text-based *.sub
      That seem to work.

sorry to have taken some of your time.
