movies will not encode to DVD or SVCD.

since some day now, i have troubles encoding movies.
Sometimes only the sound wil be encoded, and not the movie.
After i reinstalled, the encoding process (besweet) hangs after 7% (task manager says everything is still running, but nothing happens)

Could it be the fact the movies are in Xvid format? they play fine on WMP10
