Hi guys.
I've been searching this forum for somebody with the same problem, but it would seem I'm the only one. I just tried FM (1.3 and 1.4x beta) on two different pc's, and both show the same problem :
1) I try to convert 2 Xvid files into one DVD.
2) Encoding goes well, muxing ... no problems are reported.
3) but the resulting VOB files show the movies _totally out of sequence_, meaning that even within a given VOB file, seemingly random scenes which should be in totally different locations in the original movie, start to pop up. In fact, when burned, the DVD will begin with the movie somewhere at 50%, then the next 15 minutes would be the very beginning, followed by a block with the ending of the movie, and contuing somewhere at 1/3th ????
As I said, no error message is shown during the conversion process. The oddest thing is 2 totally different pc's show the very same problem. Any ideas ?

... never mind being a regular or not, thanks for the input anyway.
I wanted to try out a couple of things, and that was one of them. But I've now found _what_, but don't know _WHY_, the problem exists.
The problem went away when I redid the exact same procedure, with the exception of making the used subtitles _permanent on screen_. Wouldn't you know, the resulting DVD was perfect. Did it AGAIN with "selectable subs", and the result was a complete movie-mixup once again.
I suppose it's not the worst thing in the world to have permanent subs, but I wonder how something as obscure as a subtitle insert could result in a complete defective VOB build. I should try this with a couple of other movies, see if the problem isn't related to this one example only.
.... I think I've found the guilty one (besides the one here sitting at the other end of the keyboard that is).
I can reproduce the problem, which is not related to subs in a substantial way, by interrupting the process of a movie convert, and restarting it by manually going back to "page 1" of the program, regoing though all topics and restarting the process. I did this a couple of times as I wasn't sure of a couple of settings, and I didn't see no harm in simply restarting a process from the beginning anyhow.
But it would seem Film Machine doesn't always clean up the mess after the user would interrupt a process, for whatever reason. I manually got rid of all the stuff that was left behind in the designated work directory, cleaned out all temps and stuff, and now am happy to say the program generated a perfectly working DVD from the same source I was talking about _with_ selectable subs.
User error by any other name I suppose.
I got this problem today with 2 XviDs, but I'm not using subs. Am now trying again with the AVI's joined first.
