      A Silly Question Possibly

I have a film that I would like to convert back to DVD.

I currently have two folders for each disc. Each contains 31 rar archives, a further 19 files (with r31, r32 etc extension) and an sfv file. I also have a folder with a rar archive and sfv file for the subtitles.

If I unpack any of the the rar archives I will get the film with audio in the avi format. I suppose I have two questions. Why are all the archives all the same, and what do I do to get the best conversion back to dvd.

Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, and I'm showing my complete ignorance here.

unrar using the latest winrar start with either the .rar file if there is one or the lowest numbered file available sometimes this is .001 or similar

unrar to another folder when done if these are avi files then try the tutorials in the conversion section of the forum here use the How to Convert your DivX to DVDR for the job

Thanks. I've had a look at the tutorial.

I can extract an avi file from all of the .rar files and the .r30 etc files. What I don't understand is why there are so many of them when they all produce identical avi files when extracted

!? are you extracting them one by one !?

starting from the lowest rar should just give just the one file as it will join the archive into one when unrarring

      Thanks.

Having come across something similar in the last couple of days, I think I finally understand lol. All the archives are linked so when I unrar one of them they all get used to produce the single output file. That's what appears to the case anyway.
