You have included here same version of spumux as your 1.5.0.5 beta (not old one) - and this make very bad-looking selectable subtitles. Old and normal version of spumux is inside ver 1.4.Originally Posted by The_Mask

Well. Since using TFM 1.4 I didnt make any changes in RAM configuration and everything was OK. Few minutes ago I stopped Prime95 Memory Stress test with no errorsOriginally Posted by The_Mask
well... Maybe it's because of system working 11 days (something could f**ked up with Pagefile). Will try again after reboot but I dont think it will happen before monday.
Could it be some codec issue?
Anyway. I've noticed something weird - with TFM 1.4, Procoder 2 seems to work faster than with TFM 1.5beta's. With 1.4 AVI-DVD conversion is at 1.0~1.2 realtime speed, but with 1.5 betas it barely reach ~0.9 realtime speed. I did notice it before last reboot and after it.

At your first message (Attached Files spumux.rar 108.2 KB, 389 views) is included NEW spumux.exe (344kB, 351 349 bytes) version 0.6.11-alpha-2830.
Same that is included with 1.5.0.5 beta. Very bad-looking subtitles.
I use spumux.exe (320 KB, 328*568 bytes) version 0.6.10, that I find in TheFilmMachine v1.4.
I made two different builds of version 0.6.11. One with Anti-aliasing and one without.

Your program is a lot similar to DVD2SVCD that is out there. Uses same programs, scripts... are you the creator of it too?
One thing (of many) I like in your program is that it doesnīt uses so many space in hard disk as DVD2SVCD (I had to free about 20Gb).
Isnīt it possible to do a direct conversion as WinAVI? This program compresses a full home made divx into DVD format in 30-40 minutes (the final quality is medium) but what pleases me is that it convert video/audio/subtitles directly on VOB and is a lot less stressable for Hard Disks than Film Factory.
Isnīt it possible to just:
- convert audio from divx without extracting audio/video files
- convert video (without taking more steps than that of CCE)
- get everything together plus subtitles on one go without more steps than reading converted audio + converted CCE video + subtitles?
Also, a sugestion:
- can you add a "fast" mode as WinAVI (but with more quality)? (that does everything on the fly and take less than 1h)
- can you add already in next realease an option to use Constant Bitrate with CCE? Most home made movies I have are compressed in DivX which donīt need Variable Bit Rate from CCE and with this option I would save at least 1-1:30h.
Thank you a lot for all the work! Nice program you have there, congratulations and...thank you![]()
DVD2SVCD is not the same thing - both are good programs and use a lot of the same scripts because they do it the right way ..
dont know anything about winavi , but if works for you - use it ..
look up 'audio out of sync' with google- convert audio from divx without extracting audio/video files
CCE does not resize, amoung other things.... nor multiplex or write vob files.- convert video (without taking more steps than that of CCE)
just reduce the number of passes- can you add a "fast" mode as WinAVI (but with more quality)? (that does everything on the fly and take less than 1h)
see "sync" mentioned above - plus they are seperate steps (not really even sure what your mean)- get everything together plus subtitles on one go without more steps than reading converted audio + converted CCE video + subtitles?

hmmm - yes they do if you want to preserve quality ...
No need to be rude, if I didnīt want to improve film machine I didnīt bother come hereOriginally Posted by bj-m
No audio out of sync in other programs if thatīs what you meanOriginally Posted by bj-m
CCE does resize. See DVD compatibility feature.Originally Posted by bj-m
I never said it would multiplex - I was talking about pulldown and stuff
wow, what a suggestion... (by the way, 1 pass means 1-pass for .vaf and 1-pass for encoding... that means about 3h for a standard movie on a very good CPU)Originally Posted by bj-m

-VBR 1-pass
-VBR 4-pass
Come and tell me (with pictures) what visible differences you saw. VBR is interesting in action movies >2h. There are A LOT of movies with up to 2h that donīt benefict from VBR.
What I said was just meant to improve Film Machine. I donīt know if you make part of the team who produces it: -if you are, you could be a little more comprehensive and see that people are working with you to improve your own program and we have another options. For me it would be easier just to opt for other and use the time I spend here doing another thing. -if you arenīt...do you have any problem with the suggestions I placed here? Does it affect you in any (negative) way for some reason? Or was the talk about DVD2SVCD that bothered you?

I am kind of newbie for using FilmMachine.
However, its great programs to convert divx/xvid to dvd.
I am usually use DIVXtoDVD and Maestro for author and subtiles.
I have two questions.
One: is there anyway I can configure none pass encording for CCE?
The lowest setting is 1 pass, but just wondering if I can set to 0.
Two: I am trying to put Korean subtitles, but no luck.
It always broken word shows up on DVD when I playing.
English has no problems.
I use srt subtitles. Anybody help me for right setting for working Korean subtitles on FilmMachine?
The pemanment subtiles works fine but not selectable one got problems.
Thank you for your help.
