Hello again, its been some time since I have been around, just wanted to report that TFM 1.6.0.14 works like a charm in Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit, problem is: it has to be run with Administrator priviledges and compatibility mode Windows XP SP3, that is how its working on my system.
I'm running a AMD Athlon X2 64bit, 1.9 GhZ each core, 256 MB ATI Radeon X1250 PCI-E, 2 Gb RAM, 320 Gb HDD, 1.5 TB external HDD, and yes, its a laptop, Acer Extensa 5420.
L.E.: and will be any support for CCE SP3 ? Just got my hands on a copy and it doesnt work. It just hangs there, so had to revert back to my old config.

First question, is it true that Procoder 2 is about twice as fast for encoding xvid ot x264 to dvd, than Procoder 3?! Is it worthy in terms of quality?! Second, I have a huge problem with all of the encoders in TFM, since I do dvd conversions for a living.I also have a new DSLR that makes shining quality (although no auto-focus for video) 720P HD @ 24 fps that tops at about 280 mb/per minute, i.e a 10 min file from the camera would be about 2800MB.We all know that encoding HD content to dvd takes significantly more time than encoding a lousy xvid to dvd.Since the quality of CCE is pure junk (I mean it), I use Procoder 3 and HCE.I even though of buying the not-so-faster AMD Phenom 6 cores, although it is not much faster than my heavily overclocked Core 2 QUAD Q6600.I know that TFM is a very user-friendly, automated program. My question is, how the hell can I make Procoder 3 and HCE use more threads, as now both of them use about 60 % of the CPU cores, this means they use maximum 2,5 of 4 cores.I read on other forums that it is possible to make Procoder split the source for multiple cpus, or something like this. One other suggested that anyone can set any number of threads he wants, even more than the physical number of cores, just by setting the value in rebuilder.ini file.I am not sure I understood all this the right way, can anyone PLEASE help me do it, so when I use TFM and Procoder/HCE to have full 4 or 6 threads?! CCE will not do it, and I do not like it.Quenc seems lagging behinf HCE in terms of quality. And spending $ 1000 on core i7 will give me just 30 % more speed, according to some reviews with Procoder 3 I saw.
For HCEnc I call the commandline -smp which automatically detects the number of cores and use multithread when it finds more cores. So it is done automatically. For Procoder I don't set a variable for that because I don't know if there is one. I think Procoder detects it automatically.

Thank you for your great work and dedication. I have the latest version of TFM and wanted to know how to update ffdshow to the newest ffdshow tryouts version. Thanx in advance!!
Just install it and run the ffdshow.reg file (which is in the ffdshow subdirectory of TFM) after installation. There was a bug in the ffdshow tryouts for extracting audio directly and I don't think they fixed it yet.

Thank you for your response. I did as u told but get a message saying that the pins are not connected and a separate monitor screen when pressing on the preview button. I searched this forum for any advice and did find one saying to update Direct X. Unfortunately updating Direct X did not help but if I clear the message screen (pins are not connected) everything seems to works as usual. Is this what you were referring to as there being a bug in the new ffdshow tryouts version? Thanks in advance.. Keep up the great work.
P.S. I also found that there is no sound coming from my Media player Classic after updating. It used to work now it does not. Not such a big problem since I do get a final great encoded dvd with great audio.

No, I didn't mean that but it could be another problem which is caused by ffdshow.

thx in avance.
I think the problem is in the directory you are using. From the log file I see that TFM is giving only "infile is T:\TFM" to Spumux but I don't think that is the full directory. Can you tell me what the full name of the output directory is?

you were rightthe full directory is "T:\TFM dvds" and seems TFM was searching in dir "T:\TFM", so i renamed the dir in only "T:\TFM" without the space and dvds, now the subs are working again
looks like TFM doesnt like spaces in its output folder ?
thx The_Mask !

Hello there. I've recently installed the film machine in windows 7 platform. Installation went smoothly with no problems, however when audio extraction begins it stays at zero and does not seem to progress. The program seems to be running but no extraction occurs. I get no error message of any kind it just does not extract. I have the ffdshos and ac3 filter installed correctly. I run it as administrator and with windows xp sp3 as stated above but there seems to be a problem. I thank you for this great program and hopefully you can help me. Thanks in advance.
Can you post the log files.
