the problem wasnt disk space as it turned out to be, the setting that I touched (unselected) and it began to work was under options: enable RoBa OPV mode...
I made it work ok, but now I will read the forums on how to lower the mem usage, when it was about to finish, task manager reported more than 550mb ram used... and I used only one pass!!!
Thanks!!

Yes, memory usage is very bigOriginally Posted by Fixt00L

Now a "powerful" (useful-that is!) tip for all of you,who work hard for the others:When DVD-Authoring begins-multiplexing,creating VTS,etc.-close absolutely all open programs+those on the right side of the taskbar.STOP ALL DOWNLOADS-a bittorent client would use about 50 MB of RAM!Then press ctrl+alt+del (who does not know how to do this
)-and then carefully read what processes exactly are being executed and stop them!Even some system process as well.DO NOT close any rTFM realted process-like mplex.exe,cctp.exe,etc.And if you are not so sure about some processes-just leave them on!I had huge problems with many movies that just would not fit to be converted! With some memory limits I did-everything works damn fine! And this beta is more impressive than ever!If you memory usage is still too high, especially after converting a movie-when you`d like to convert another one-just restart your PC (happens damn soon sometimes, doesn`t it?

).So try that one,I hope I have been helping you with that tips...
This is not true, TFM uses very very high memory. Not else application uses these rams.Originally Posted by Fixt00L
Oh,really?Maybe I just waste my time to make fun of the other users...I just said that many movies were converted successfully after doing what I described in the previous post. And before that, they just would not convert!Even with memory limits the conversion finishes damn slowly,no matter that I have a 5400 mhz Dual Core processor...

You are welcome,MaskYou have been helping me and the others for a long time by now
Hello, guys!Miss meI have two suggestions for you:If you are not using a Serial Ata hard Drive and if your Motherboard supports it-get one! They are really fast,I have just finished testing.I get about 15 minutes advantage when I use 4-passes for convertion.Be sure to get ONLY a SEAGATE SATA II NCQ,especially if your motherboard`s chipset is nVidia Nforce 4 or (burst
) Intel 915P (or newer),because they support NCQ -Native Command Queueing.
2.If you haven`t reinstalled your Windows XP OS for a long time-let`s say,for about 6 months now-do it!I have checked that on a couple of PCs that run 1024 mb of RAM.When using an NTFS partition (if yours is a FAT/Fat32 one=convert it to NTFS-it is a much faster file system),now TFM uses about 200-400 mb of RAM LESS!It may sound dumb, but it sure helps out!
Okay.. please no one slap me.. i have just got TFM.. and im looking to convert 2 .avi files to mpeg so i can stick 'em on a DVD.. its saying i need an encoder.. is CCE the best one to go with? and where can i find it? I have only just got the program and only got my DVD burner a week ago so please excuse my total and utter n00bness,

CCE is very fast, has excellent quality and supports the roba method..its my encoder of choice
Procoder is slow but also gives excellent quality.
But, as a start why not try the bundeled hcencoder.
It will take some more time than cce but its free and also provides very good quality![]()
Argh im kerfuffled.. i left TFM on overnight - i acquired CCE, dropped in the 2 .avi files. It finished "Audio Conversion" then CCE opened and it said it was converting it and said it had 250000 frames or whatever to convert. When i woke up this morning it said "........coding had failed" and i clicked okay, the overall progress bar jumped to 50% and carried on going. I thought it had failed so i quit the program. I don't know what to dooo!

I've also noticed when previewing the file that the music and "sound effects" are fine but the dialogue is too quiet to hear..
