The_Mask I think I've found the problem,
I'm using canonpus procoder 1.01.35.0 and I'm making a DVD but when TFM runs the coder it sets the target format to VCD(mpeg 1) and it actualy tries to author a DVD with a VCD files, when I tried with QuEnc everything was OK and there were files in the DVD directory
Edit : Oh I met another problemwhen i make a DVD with selectable subtitles, the bulgarian letters are unreadable. If I make them permanent I can read them, but they are on the picture (not on the black lanes below)

You have to choose the right character set when using selectable subs.

TheMask why dont you add a choice for checking if the resulting dvd is the size that if excepting. (i mean if the dvd folder is 250mb then the program must not burn it)
That is a good idea, will do that. Meanwhile try a Rewritable DVD.

And how can I understand what is the right character set (for cyrylic) whit no converting the whole movie![]()
hi,
is it possible also to convert in CBR mode instead of VBR ?
everything works great but when the conversion is finished and i look at the size of the dvd directory its not a full dvd (4.36Gb.) but about a Gb. smaller.
(the movie itself is completly converted)
thats why i think its because of the VBR conversion, right ?
grtz

or maybe the bitrate instead of CBR
the mask, is it possible maybe in the future that you can change these settings ?
i'd love to have my dvdr's 90/100% full writed, and more bitrate = better kwality![]()
otherwise its a fantastic program
good job![]()
@T-T: Will look into it.

thx alotOriginally Posted by The_Mask
but i have dicovered another small problem
any idea what this means ?
++ WARN: Target data rate lower than computed requirement!
++ WARN: N.b. a 20% or so discrepancy in variable bit-rate
++ WARN: streams is common and harmless provided no time-outs will occur
is it something to do with the audio stream being VBR and the AVI video stream CBR ?
the dvd plays fine.
but don't know why TFM show these warns.
grtz.

@ bullietje: thats not canopus u use but CCE 2.70![]()
@T-T: these warnings are normal, the don't affect the final dvd.
@Bullietje: which CCE 2.70 version did you use? I always work with version 2.67.0.23, does the job better than 2.70 for me.

Ive had a problem with TFM that deals with FPS. Im using the latest beta of TFM but ive run into the same issue with the latest official release as well. CCE 2.67, 3.2ghz cpu, 1gb ddr 3200.
Anyhow, whenever I encode an avi for use on a dvd (svcd), i need to convert pal to ntsc. Whenever I do this the file always ends up being to big for DVD5 output. Usually by something like 300mb or something in that range. Any ideas or explanations? Anyone else have this problem. I've reinstalled everything more than once to make sure that wasnt it. Ive also formatted my OS to make sure there wasn't some mistake there also.
I'm running the latest beta as well. The CCE I'm using is a Trial SP version 2.67.00.11. I'm not sure whether or not this is causing the problem or not. It just seems like it's miscalculating the size for some reason or another, I haven't been able to figure it out. Very strange.Originally Posted by Alex2005
