quality better with diff. video-encoder ?

Used for my first project the built in encoder, but the quality isn't what i expected > will it be better when choosing for canopus instead ?

Using for avi to mpeg(1) decoding.

use CCE and see the difference...... canopus is good but takes a whole lot longer to process

(tmpenc didn't do the trick, error after error, and this proggie worked fine so far)
