hmm i think i know what the problem was.
when i use the feature "shutdown the computer" after encoding this happens.
That is strange?

yes it sure is.
when i have some time i will try to convert a movie without shutting down the computer to make sure.
only happend with DVD conversion not SVCD.
maybe one of those SP2 bugs.
I just encountered this problem. I was converting a movie during the night, and when I woke up, I had no files in the VIDEO_TS folder. There was however - among other temp files in my working folder - a 4.13 GB file named TFM_Subbed_Video.mpg.
I'm posting my log, hoping that someone (The Mask) can figure out what happened

I think something went wrong with Spumux (inserting the Subtitles into the Videostream). Normally Spumux wil show this in the log file:
Spumux is inserting subtitles in the videostream.....
Processed 1335 subtitles.
The longest display line had 52 characters.
The maximum number of displayed lines was 4.
The normal display height of the font arial.ttf was 32.
The bottom display height of the font arial.ttf was 45.
The biggest subtitle box had 5326 bytes.

And it shows this with yours:

Thanks for your answer! I think you're probably right about Spumux.
However, I managed to 'save' the project: I took the 4.13 GB file (TFM_Subbed_Video.mpg) and played it using WinDVD - and it was perfect, except it contained no subs. I then de-multiplexed it using TMPGenc, and encoded it to VOB using DVDAuthorGUI (making sure to include the subs).
Naturally, the result is pretty much what it would have been, had I succeeded using The Filmmachine for the job. The obvious downside is all the extra trouble... but hey: it's a work in progress. In any case, I appreciate your spending your time on developing TFM.

AH!!! By some freak accident, I suddenly remembered that DVDAuthor (including Spumux) doesn't recognize paths containing the (Danish) letters "Æ", "Ø", and "Å". As soon as I had changed my paths to the root of my C-drive (thereby omitting "Æ", "Ø", and "Å") everything worked again.
This solution probably applies to those of you, who have encountered the problem (including Spanish, Portuguese, and German etc. - ie. languages containing less common, 'strange' letters...).

well it did not work with english subtitles for me so...
guess it's another problem for me
it has nothing to do with subtitles - I'm talking about the paths to your working directories / folders during the encoding process
